March 28, 8:15 – 10:00 pm
Early spring evenings are cool and sometimes crystal clear, affording great views of the night sky. On this evening, we’ll be treated to powerful telescopic views of a waxing gibbous moon and the largest planet in the solar system, Jupiter, and its moons! The International Space Station passes overhead from west to east at about 8:30 pm, a wonderful sight in binoculars. Later, we’ll view the Orion Nebula, the Pleiades, Hyades and Perseus star clusters, and perhaps glimpse the planet Uranus. Join us for this exciting and educational night under the stars! Lead by Morris Museum Astronomical Society.
Halsey Field, behind the tennis courts. Bring a flashlight to walk the patch, binoculars (if you have them), and dress for the weather.
