- Tell us something about your family. Did your parents also live here?
- Where have you lived in the Borough? In which houses?From 1952 to 1967 we lived at 66 Ball Rd.
- What do you remember particularly about the houses and properties where you lived?My 7 brothers & sisters loved our old stuco 3 story house , breakfast nook that could seat all10 of us,foot ball in back yard, burning leaves in the fall, Yacarinos store, green hills , the bus stop, driving under RR tracks for the first time in our 59 Olds, swimming from boat dock to island beach, sailing on sail fish, going to basketball games where every person in town was in the bleachers,
- What are some of your special memories growing up in Mountain Lakes?
- Where did you go to school? What particular memories do you have from your school years? Are there any special stories you associate with that time of your life?Lake Drive School from grades 2 to 6 and the new high school from grades 7 to12. I had fun but school itself was more than hard for me, I was never a good student.
- Where did you and your family shop?Dells village A&P. 2 full shopping carts every week.
- What were the roads and the lakes like?
- Are there any special people you remember who contributed to the life of the town? Why do they stand out in your mind?Ernie Ginter, a cop, nice guy; another cop, not so nice. Bill Cogan, teacher, swim coach, good person. Reggie Harrison, teacher he put me in a play, “Our Town”. He was wonderful to me, I will never forget him. Also I was in his class when Peter Margolus came in and told us that President Kennedy had been shot.
- What did you do for fun formal recreation, sports and entertainment in general?
- Are there any special events that stand out in your mind?1962 basketball, the players were great and they went 25 & 0
- Did your parents and the parents of your friends work nearby? In New York or elsewhere? How did they get to work? How did commuting change over your time here?My dad worked in NYC and used the train and cor pooled with Mr Scribner who had a checker sedan!

- Did you have a sense of Mountain Lakes as a unique place in its lifestyle, its homes, as a community?
- How did the world’s events — World War I, the Depression, World War II, the Korean War, the assassination of JFK, Viet Nam, Watergate, etc. — affect you and fellow Mountain Lakes residents when you were growing up?
- What made living in Mountain Lakes special to you, as you think back over your life here?My brother Todd said growing up in Mtn Lakes was like being in a bubble. I loved my years in town.
