| Astronomy Experience Night 8:15 pm Astronomy Experience Night Mar 28 @ 8:15 pm – 10:00 pm  March 28, 8:15 – 10:00 pm Early spring evenings are cool and sometimes crystal clear, affording great views of the night sky. On this evening, we’ll be treated to powerful telescopic views of a waxing gibbous moon and the largest planet in the solar system, Jupiter, and its moons! The International Space Station passes overhead from west to east at about 8:30 pm, a wonderful sight in binoculars. Later, we’ll view the Orion Nebula, the Pleiades, Hyades and Perseus star clusters, and perhaps glimpse the planet Uranus. Join us for this exciting and educational night under the stars! Lead by Morris Museum Astronomical Society. Halsey Field, behind the tennis courts. Bring a flashlight to walk the patch, binoculars (if you have them), and dress for the weather. Mountain Lakes Trout Stocking at Birchwood Lake – Help stock the lake with over 400 fish. Bring a clean 3–5-gallon bucket or purchase one there for $5 (cash preferred).

Mountain Lakes Trout Derby at Birchwood Lake – Mountain Lakes resident check-in starts as early at 7:30am. Derby starts promptly at 8am and ends at 10am.
Suggested donation: $15 per child/$25 per family
RULES: Derby is open to Mountain Lakes children, 16 years and younger. All adults must be accompanied by a child. Only Mountain Lakes children may fish and are eligible for prizes. Adults are on net duty only.
Prizes for longest fish, first caught fish, and any fish caught. Grand prize and runner up are awarded at the end of the Derby. Special thanks to Mountain Lakes PBA Local 310 for their generous support in providing funds for prizes. This event is rain or shine.
Live bait, buckets, hats, t-shirts, and refreshments will be available for purchase. Cash or check preferred. If you’d like to pre-register and/or donate prior to the event, stop by Borough Hall (400 Boulevard) Mon-Fri 8:30am-4:30pm. All proceeds go to offset the cost of stocking.
