| Astronomy Experience Night 8:15 pm Astronomy Experience Night Mar 28 @ 8:15 pm – 10:00 pm ![]() March 28, 8:15 – 10:00 pm Early spring evenings are cool and sometimes crystal clear, affording great views of the night sky. On this evening, we’ll be treated to powerful telescopic views of a waxing gibbous moon and the largest planet in the solar system, Jupiter, and its moons! The International Space Station passes overhead from west to east at about 8:30 pm, a wonderful sight in binoculars. Later, we’ll view the Orion Nebula, the Pleiades, Hyades and Perseus star clusters, and perhaps glimpse the planet Uranus. Join us for this exciting and educational night under the stars! Lead by Morris Museum Astronomical Society. Halsey Field, behind the tennis courts. Bring a flashlight to walk the patch, binoculars (if you have them), and dress for the weather. The Board of Education is reviewing the Policy for Light Usage on Wilkins Field. On Monday, October 19th, the Board will be voting on a revision to the Policy this change will allow Borough Recreation programs to use the field with the lights You can read the proposed policy at www.mlschools.org. The Board welcomes public comment on this and other topics at their meetings. If you are unable to attend a meeting, you can email the Superintendent, Anne Mucci, (amucci@mlschools.org) directly if you would like to offer your thoughts to the Board for their consideration.

The Shade Tree Commission will be giving out free seedlings on April 23rd from 9 am to 2 pm at the Municipal building. When you bring your oversize trash for EcoWeek Trash Day, you can pick up free seedlings on your way out. We will have a number of species so mix and match.
Join us for a fun spring tradition, The Mountain Lakes Arbor Day Celebration, on April 29th at 1:45 pm at Wildwood School. The Shade Tree Commission is honoring Carol Rufener, a long time resident, former Mayor and Freeholder, who is setting a great example by planting numerous trees in her yard. We will be giving out seedlings to some Wildwood classes. The theme for this year’s celebration is ‘sowing seeds for our future.’
