Mountain Lakes Recreation Department – Intro to Pyrography Monday, November 3rd OR Wednesday, December 10th 4-6pm OR 7-9pm Borough Hall, 400 Boulevard $20 per person (adults and children 12+) Discover the art of woodburning in this hands-on beginner pyrography class! You’ll learn the fundamentals of pyrography, including how to safely use a woodburning tool, practice basic strokes using a variety of tips, and how to use stencils and graphite paper to create a one-of-a-kind piece. Under guided instruction, you’ll create two unique pieces to take home with a choice of small box, coaster, shelf sitter sign, or tree cookie ornament – perfect for gifting or decorating your space. Whether you’re an artist, a DIY enthusiast, or just curious to try something new, this class offers a welcoming space to heat up your creativity. All materials provided. No experience necessary. At the Library: Dr. Barbara Tomlinson, prominent art historian and cultural resources lecturer, will speak on the Shelburne Museum of Folk Art in Shelburne, VT, concentrating on the Wyeth family.  The film to follow is on Electra Havemeyer Webb, the founder of the museum. Wine and cheese refreshments will be served.
