| Astronomy Experience Night 8:15 pm Astronomy Experience Night Mar 28 @ 8:15 pm – 10:00 pm ![]() March 28, 8:15 – 10:00 pm Early spring evenings are cool and sometimes crystal clear, affording great views of the night sky. On this evening, we’ll be treated to powerful telescopic views of a waxing gibbous moon and the largest planet in the solar system, Jupiter, and its moons! The International Space Station passes overhead from west to east at about 8:30 pm, a wonderful sight in binoculars. Later, we’ll view the Orion Nebula, the Pleiades, Hyades and Perseus star clusters, and perhaps glimpse the planet Uranus. Join us for this exciting and educational night under the stars! Lead by Morris Museum Astronomical Society. Halsey Field, behind the tennis courts. Bring a flashlight to walk the patch, binoculars (if you have them), and dress for the weather. 9pm: Fireworks display will take place over Mountain Lake. Island Beach will be open for viewing. Please anticipate parking congestion and consider walking or carpooling.
Each year the borough relies on personal donations to offset the cost of the fireworks. Please consider making a Donation this year. Donations can be sent to Borough Hall, 400 Boulevard, Mountain Lakes NJ 07046. Please make checks payable to “Borough of Mountain Lakes” and write “Fireworks” in the memo.
In case of severe weather, updates regarding the event will be posted on July 4th on the
Borough Website.
Important Information Regarding Midvale Boat Docks for 4th of July: Please Read: Due to the storage of the fireworks on Midvale dock on July 4th, residents will not have access to any boats from approximately 9am-7pm. The launch will be closed again from 8pm until approximately 30 minutes after the fireworks show. Thank you for your cooperation.
Important Information Regarding Island Beach Parking Lot for 4th of July: Please Read: The parking lot at Island Beach will be cleared at 5:30 pm on July 4th. It will re-open once the MLPD have secured the area.
