Laker 55+
Mountain Lakers in the 55+ group gather once a month for a “Speaker Series” and light refreshments. Guest lecturers from local colleges and businesses or organizations come to talk about various topics. The group generally meets at Mountain Lakes Library at 1:00 pm on the third Friday of the Month.

Mountain Lakes resident, Prof. David Gurney, Director of the IGG Center at Ramapo College, Investigative Genetic Genealogy (IGG) has helped to solve over 500 cases of violent crime and unidentified human remains since 2018. Prof. Gurney will discuss how IGG works using real case examples; what public policy concerns arise from the method; and how the new IGG Center at Ramapo is working to expand the use of IGG in exonerating the wrongfully convicted. And, importantly, he will discuss how members of the public can help.
