I. Sunday Racing Program – Adults and Children

Schedule:  Races every Sunday from May 27 through September 2.

Time:1:00 to 4:00 PM

Boats:  Provided by the participants

Requirements:  Kids - Consent and Waiver form, parent provided PFD (personal floatation device), swimming test passed. Adults - PFD on board.  PDF’s must fit, be Coast Guard approved and hold the child’s head up.

Fee: Adults $40, Kids free.  Please make out your check to the Borough of Mountain Lakes.

II. Sailing Camp – Instruction, Play Races, Games and Activities

Schedule: Four days per week (Monday – Thursday) starting July 2.  Camp runs for 6 weeks, ending on August 9.    Free lessons are available for new sailors during the two weeks before camp starts.  Each new camper and parent is entitled to three half hour lessons.

Time: 1:00 to 2:30, 2:30 to 4:00 and 4:00 to 5:30 PM.  Counselors and CIT’s can attend both sessions.

Boats:  For families without boats, the Sailing Association has some boats available for rent on a first come first served basis for $25 per week. 

Requirements:  Consent and Waiver form, parent provided PFD, swimming test passed.  The swim test is conducted only at Birchwood Lake.

Attendance:  Each camper is required to supply a calendar indicating which days he/she plans to attend.  There is no penalty for non-attendance.

Cost: If payment is received prior to April 1, the cost is $50 per week for the first sibling, $25 for the second sibling and $0 for the third.  If payment is received after March 31, the cost is $80, $40 or $0.   Please make out your check to the Borough of Mountain Lakes.

Iii. General Requirements for All Children

Safety Rules: MLSA, Recreation and Coast Guard rules apply.

Wear a PFD (life jacket).

Return to beach if you hear thunder.

Immediately go the nearest shore and take cover if you see lightning.

Stay with the boat if it overturns.

No swimming during a game or play race unless approved by coaches.

Gross poor sportsmanship will be penalized.
