Thank you to all parents who volunteered during the season, in large ways
and small ways, behind the scenes and visibly! Do you feel your volunteer
responsibilities enabled you to contribute to the team in ways you would like?
Please share suggestions for helping us broaden parental participation, and
awareness of the broad range of volunteer responsibilities.
We would like to improve communication of team activities. Please identify
areas of our program which you feel need better communication, and the way you
most like to receive information (e-mail, via your children, Birchwood Lake
notice board, etc.)
What things were done in 2005 that you would like to see repeated in future
years?
Please provide any other suggestions you may have for improving our
programs in 2006:
How might you suggest we encourage other families to participate in our
programs?
How many years has your family participated in MLSA prior to 2005?

Saturday Invitational Swim Meets
Finally, we would appreciate your feedback on Saturday invitational swim
meets. Traditionally, we have participated in Lakeland or Hub Lakes
invitational meets on the last three Saturdays in July. These provide swimmers
with opportunities to swim all four strokes in formats which differ from Monday
and Wednesday evening dual meets, and with a wider variety of other swimmers.
They have been important to the success of the leagues. Participation in these
is optional. Please indicate your 2005 participation and future interest in
these meets. A description of the format of each meet is included.

Hub Lakes Age Group Invitational (12 and under)
Lakeland B Championship ______ _____
Packanack ‘Odd Age’
Invitational: Swimmers have an opportunity to swim all four strokes in
different age-bands than other
meets. Age bands for this meet are 7 and under, 8/9, 10/11, 12/13, 14/15, and
16 and over. A high point team trophy is awarded, as are individual event
medals. Family relays are included. (Lakeland
league- July 16 this year)
Pequannack Age Group
Invitational (12 and under): Swimmers have an opportunity to swim all four
strokes with swimmers of their age-year only. A trophy is awarded to the
highest scoring male and female swimmer for each age (7,8,9,10,11,12).
(Lakeland league- July 23 this year)
Hub Lakes Age Group
Invitational (12 and under): Swimmers have an opportunity to swim all four
strokes with swimmers of their age-year only. A trophy is awarded to the highest
scoring male and female swimmer for each age (7,8,9,10,11,12). (Hub Lakes
league- July 23 this year). We hosted this meet this year.
Lakeland B Championship:
We did not attend this meet this year, although we have traditionally done so.
It provides an opportunity for 6-year old swimmers to receive a trophy, and for
those swimmers who do not have two Lakeland league A times to shine, and to
qualify for A times in additional strokes. Swimmers swim in regular age bands
(8under, 9/10, 11/12, etc.) Swimmers with two or more A times do not swim at
this meet.
Thank you for your feedback and ideas.
We hope Mountain Lakes Swimming and Diving programs
have contributed to a pleasurable summer for your
family!
