1.Each boat ties a balloon to its bridle with a two foot length of string and is equipped with a popper, usually a paint stirrer with a small nail driven through the end.

2.Usually there are two kids per boat.  The gunner straddles the bow.

3.The last boat with an unpopped balloon wins.
